The BOA Athletes’ Commission is an advisory group set up to ensure that the athletes’ viewpoint and interests are at the heart of everything the BOA does. The Athletes’ Commission has 12 members, made up of a mixture of retired and current athletes from summer and winter sports.

The current Chair’s term comes to an end this year and we are now opening the process of election of Chair for the term of January 2019 to December 2022. This is a paid role for approximately 50 days per year. The current Chair remains eligible to re-stand.

The BOA AC are looking for someone who:

- Has proven leadership skills
- Can represent the interests of fellow Olympians – past, present and future Team GB athletes
- Is  interested in and knowledgeable about the British and global sporting landscape and the Olympic world
- Would like to help the BOA provide world-class services and support to athletes during competition and at the crucial time once they finish in sport

Candidates must have competed for Team GB at an Olympic Games or Olympic Winter Games within the past 12 years (no earlier than Turin 2006).

The Chair role description can be found here. Candidates should apply by providing a CV and covering letter outlining their suitability for the role to [email protected]. Closing date for applications is midnight Sunday 9th September 2018.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview on the afternoon of Thursday 27th September in London.

BOA Athletes’ Commission – Member Elections

Elections will take place for six members of the BOA Athletes’ Commission in October 2018 and applications for these voluntary positions will open at the end of August 2018.  Further information will be emailed to all eligible Olympians (having competed for Team GB at an Olympic or Olympic Winter Games within the last 12 years) in due course.
