Victoria Aggar announced as new Chair of the British Athletes Commission
The Board of the BAC are pleased to announce that Victoria Aggar has taken over as Chair of the British Athletes Commission. This is an exciting time for British Athletes Commission athletes with a year to go until Pyeongchang 2018 and new athletes joining the BAC in preparation for Tokyo 2020.
Victoria is a retired Paralympic athlete who has won World Titles in 2006 and 2009 as well as a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games. Prior to competing in Paralympic sport Victoria played National League netball. Victoria worked as Athlete Services Manager at the British Paralympic Association from 2012-2016 and alongside that represents British athletes on WADAs Athlete Committee. Victoria is also a Non-executive Director at the English Institute of Sport.
Joining Victoria will be Dougie Dryburgh as Vice Chair and Marc Woods as a Non-executive Director. Dougie is an Olympic Curler who represented Team GB in the 1998 Winter Olympics. Dougie is currently Viapath Chief Executive Officer and brings a wealth of business experience to the BAC Board. Marc Woods is one of Great Britain’s most decorated Paralympic swimmers with a career spanning 17 years.
After a fantastic summer for the BAC Board Non-executive Director Susie Rodgers MBE, will take over as Chair of the Athlete Advisory Group. Anna Watkins MBE has stepped down from her role as Interim Chair and Chair of the Athlete Advisory Group but will remain on the Board of the BAC as a Non-executive Director.
