Athletes Direct

Athletes Direct is a school visiting scheme run by the BAC, it links elite athletes who are interested in visiting schools, directly to the schools that request visits.

All the athletes who register on the scheme agree to offer their services for a small fee of between £100 - £300 plus travel expenses. The registration and booking website is a free service to both athletes and schools.

The scheme is run via a website www.athletesdirect.org , email and SMS.

Schools post details of their event on the website, and invite athletes to attend. Athletes are prompted they have an invitation to an event by an automated email or SMS. Interested athletes reply to the school via the website. This response will provide the school with access to the full biography and contact details of the athlete. Schools chat to, and select the most appropriate athlete for their event.
The successful visit takes place and the athlete submits their invoice to the school. Finally, the school and athlete provide very brief evaluation on the web site.

To register as an athlete, please go to the athletes section on www.athletesdirect.org and complete the online registration. Athletes must have been of international level at any age group. Both current and retired athletes from World Class Sports, Olympic and Paralympic events are most welcome.
