Career Coaching Programme

Career Coaching is a customised, ongoing service which prepares elite athletes for a new career while they are still actively competing within their sport.   It has a strong emphasis towards commercial training to allow elite athletes to both maximize their opportunities while still competing and improve their career opportunities on retirement, offering the following key elements:

•    A personally assigned Career Coach for each athlete, who will guide and mentor their client through the Career Coaching programme delivered through a series of face to face consulting sessions, by email and by telephone.

•    A customised, half-day assessment centre process, supported by relevant personality and aptitude testing tools and questionnaires. This assessment process will give both the client and their Career Coach an objective insight into transferable skills, career preferences and training/development needs, to help plot the journey to the ultimate career goals. Unlimited access to a sophisticated, online, personal development centre, which includes individual, password-protected access to individual coaching programmes, together with an array of self-discovery, self-help, training and development modules to help goal-setting, goal achievement and commercial awareness; access to a library of constantly updated, useful and relevant web-links such as job sites, self-help sites, relevant community sites, professional/training bodies; constant access to a variety of work experience opportunities, relevant to each individual’s future career choice, that Careers After Sport have researched and made available through a network of Corporate Sponsors, providing practical work experience on a flexible, part-time basis and preferential access to commercial opportunities offered by Sport2Business, a trading division of Careers After Sport.

Bursary Scheme for Elite Athletes Seeking Sponsorship

We have identified several organisations that are prepared to sponsor athletes through the CAS programme in return for limited engagement around motivational talks, community/corporate social responsibility, work experience etc, enabling athletes to receive the benefit of the programme without the cost, in return for limited engagement.

Sport2Business
